This window will appear when you open or create a Designer's Studio document. It allows you to see all the parts of your document, whether it's a color scheme, icon set, etc., and to specify which parts you wish to see at any given time. Clicking on an element in the graphical display will bring up that element in the resource editor and allow you to change the element's appearance in real time, meaning that all changes will be immediately reflected in the preview window. There are a number of customizable options in the preview window which will alter the display of your file. Note, however, that the preview window has no editing tools of its own; changing of the displayed elements must be done in the resource window, discussed in the next chapter.

Preview Controls
State (only present when editing color schemes)
Clicking the state icon will toggle the preview window between its "edit" and "browse" modes. The default state, edit, allows you to select elements to edit in the resource window simply by clicking on them in the Preview Window. Changing the state to browse lets you select parts of the color scheme to display in their "pressed" modes. This is extremely important for completing color schemes. To insure that all your pressed elements are edited properly, you should select "All Pushed" from the View menu or hit F14 if your keyboard allows. Selecting "All Normal" from the View menu or hitting F14 a second time will revert your resources to their original state. Note that toggling the states of color scheme elements does not change them in any way. This simply allows you to return to the "edit" mode of the preview window and select the pressed elements for editing in the resource window.
Snapshot (only present when editing color schemes)
The snapshot tool allows you to export a picture of the current preview window. To specify the format to export the preview to, choose "Preferences..." from under the File menu. You may choose export to clipboard, export to PICT file or export to PICT clipping.
Scheme Accents (only present when editing color schemes)
Kaleidoscope color schemes allow you the option of including a number of additional resources (eight or eighteen) which allows the user to alter the color of some of the elements of your color scheme. Clicking the accents button will allow you to specify the number of accents you wish to add to your color scheme or whether you wish to remove some or all of them. Adding accentual elements will result in the accents button changing to a pop-up menu, allowing you to choose the color you wish to view or edit.
Preview Set (only present when editing color schemes)
The preview set pop-up allows you to choose which preview, from Designer's Studio's large selection of built-in previews, you wish to view and edit.
Preview (only present when editing color schemes)
This menu will alter the mode the previewed set is in. For the default document preview, this includes active, inactive and without scrollbars. Other preview sets have their own modes, all of which must be looked at to achieve a completed color scheme.
Preview Depth (only present when editing color schemes)
This pop-up menu allows you to specify the bit depth in which you wish to have your preview displayed. This is very useful for emulating previews on monitors which display a different number of colors than yours. Please note that if you monitor only supports 16-bit color, choosing 24-bit will not allow your monitor to magically display more colors. Also, please note that the preview depth pop-up does not determine the depth of pasted or drawn resources. Designer's Studio uses 16-bit color by default.
Resource Pop-Up (only present when editing icon sets)
This option allows you to choose which depth or size of icon is displayed in the icon set Preview Window. As with color scheme previews, all states of a given icon must be similarly edited to provide consistent display on all displays.
